The history of the Caribbean Association of Neurological Surgeonns was published in two languages,

English and Spanish in 2002 by President Dr. Randolph Cheeks in two chapters in the book by

Dr Jorge Mendez of Chile who is the Official Historian for FLANC.The book, " The history of the

Latin American Societies of Neurosurgery" was published in 2002 and it outlines the formation of CANS

and catalogs the important evolutionary milestones in the development of Neurological Surgery across

the Caribbean and Latin America..
